Update on my new business....

Ok, so you all have asked specifics about pricing, flavors, etc. I will try to answer your questions. First of all I want to let you know that when making any of my baked goods I wear disposable gloves, disposable hairnet and an apron.

As far as pricing is concerned....Cake and brownie pops are $1.50 each/$18.00 a dozen (individually wrapped in a box). If you want them in an arrangement they are 6/$10, 12/$20 and 24/$40. Cupcakes are $15/dozen. Prices are subject to change.

As far as flavors......Cupcake flavors are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, red velvet, devils food(cream-filled) and many more that I'm testing. Frostings are chocolate and vanilla buttercream, cream cheese and others that I'm testing. Cake pops flavors are chocolate brownie, vanilla cake, chocolate cake, red velvet(still trying different recipes as the ones I use is too oily), banana bread cake, strawberry cake and carrot cake(which I'm still trying to tweek as the recipe I have is a little too oily). I am trying several new ones and will let you know if they turn out to be good enough to add to the menu.

If anyone has any questions, concerns, comments, etc. please let me know. I am always open to feedback. Hope this is helpful. Make sure to scroll down at my new pics.

I need a name for my business.......

Ok, so I'm not sure what to call my business. Frosted, P&G Confections, The Cupcake Lady, etc. I'm not very creative when it comes to this stuff. I've had several orders so far. I'm doing cupcakes and cake pops for now. Cupcakes are $12/doz. and pops are $18/doz. As I perfect the decorations I may increase the prices. I'm not packaging for mail delivery. (At least not for now.) I will try any flavors you want. My main cupcake flavors are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cream-filled devil's food and red velvet. Frosting's are vanilla or chocolate buttercream and cream cheese. I'm sure I'll be adding more flavors as I try new recipes. As far as pop flavors...chocolate, white/vanilla, banana, red velvet, strawberry and brownie pops. I tried carrot cake pops from my favorite cake recipe, but it's very oily, so I need to play around with it a little. The pops are all dipped in chocolate candy coating (vanilla, milk chocolate or dark chocolate.) I'm trying somw new pop recipes soon. Cheesecake pops....YUM. I'll let you know how they are once I try them.

Been a long time.

Well, let's try this again. Time has really gotten away from me. We moved back in July. Payton started pre-school in September. He just finished his last day yesterday. Gabby will be starting this fall along with Payton. They're just growing up way too fast. Payton turned 4 last week. Gabby is 2 1/2 and we are trying to potty train right now (can't remember which attempt this is). Payton was easy. Gabby, on the other hand, not so easy. They say no child is ever alike, I believe it!! She is little miss personality.

I was making girly hair bows during the winter. Trying to stock up to get in craft shows and sell them. I've recently started baking cupcakes and making pops (cake and brownie). I'd love to start my own business. I've already had several people order some from me. I'm getting rave reviews. YEAH!!

I'll try to do better at posting this time around. Take care.

Where does the time go?........

Time just seems to fly anymore. We had a nice Christmas. Payton wasn't too sure about Santa. He didn't like the idea of him coming to our house and leaving presents. He said he already had enough toys and didn't want Santa to bring new ones. This quickly changed when he saw what Santa brought Christmas morning.

Gabby got her first pair of "big girl" shoes. We had to take her to StrideRite to be fitted. Her feet are thick and wide. She wears a size 6 1/2 extra wide. She loves her shoes. She likes to show off when she has them on. Her 15 mo. check up was last week. She's still way off the growth charts. The Nurse Practitioner said she will probably be 6 feet tall. She weighs 36 pounds and is 34 inches tall. She's starting to slim down a little since she's been walking. She can wear a size 6 diaper again, which is great! (Only a couple places carry size 7 Pampers.)

Gabby's walking......Yeah!

Well, Gabby is finally walking. Yeah!!!! She started on Thanksgiving day, just shy of 14 months. She acts as if she's been walking for a long time, she's very good at it. I've been waiting for this day. Now maybe my back can start feeling better, since I don't have to carry her around. She tries to chase her brother and he loves it! Just tonight they were chasing each other around screaming at the top of their lungs, having so much fun. They should sleep good tonight.

I've started making hair bows. I'm hoping to get really good at it and start selling them. Mom is going to take the ones I've made to the Heath Craft Show this weekend and I should know if this is a talent I should pursue. It's fun to do, when I get a chance to do it. I didn't realize what a big thing this is, but I've had trouble finding cute hair accessories for Gabby and have found that there are many stay at home mom's who have started their own businesses doing this.

I'll post more around Christmas....

Halloween fun....

Well, last night was beggar's night in our town. I wasn't planning on taking the kid's, but ended up doing so. Payton's great grandma gave him a Thomas the Train outfit she bought last Halloween, so he wore that. Gabby wore her tutu, crown and carried her wand from her birthday. Payton did really well. I practiced with him all day as to what he's supposed to say...trick or treat and thank you. Daddy helped him walk up to the houses while I pushed Gabby in the stroller. I added a couple pictures below. We walked three streets. Payton walked the entire time. Once we got back he looked at all his candy and took out all the suckers, which was 5. He has not let go of the suckers except to sleep. It was a fun night for all of us.

First time blogger....

I've never done this before, but am going to try.

Charlie has been home on vacation since Wed. We were supposed to go to Akron for a few days, but were unable to, so we've been sticking around home. We've gotten some much needed rest in. Gabby has a new tooth, her eighth. She's still cutting more apparently, she bites and chews on everything. She had her one year check up a week ago. She weighs 33 lbs. and is 33 in. long. She's been way off the growth charts since she was 6 months. She is not walking yet. She is very close, but hasn't started yet. I'll be so grateful for that day. She said "apple" yesterday. Payton is going through another growth spurt. He weighs 39 lbs. and is 39 in. long. (funny how that worked out) He talks about wanting to go see the gorilla's. We went to the zoo twice this summer and he loved both times. He hasn't stopped talking about the gorilla's and monkey's since we went last. Hopefully we'll get to go one more time this year. We just went for a drive out in the country where I grew up. It was nice. The leaves are changing colors. I love the fall.

They're growing up too fast. Just seems like yesterday Payton came into the world and now he's almost 2 1/2. Wow!
